In a world where most humans aren't aware of the paranormal that surrounds them, shifters will do anything to protect their identities. When a wizard, Lance, meets shifter, Cassie, those rules go out the window. From the very first meeting, both individuals feel that they are meant to be together.Book 1 is a basic love story, with a few twists and turns. The overall story is that of the guy and the girl meeting and mating. The romance is passionate and the story is quick. But it's the background story about which I want to know more... Who are the GSA? Was there a shifter in Lance's bloodline? What will happen next? At times the dialogue was simple, but the story kept moving. It was easy to read and I look forward to reading the continuing story.

Book 2: Lone Wolf
Him: A male wolf shifter with no memory of his past or how he came to be "this creature." Her: The only girl in a wizarding family. Shut out of the special government agency on paranormal activity by her family, she is a cop with a talent for soothing wild beasts. Together: They take on the evil government agency and a wicked pack of hyenas. Oh, and the sparks do fly!!!What an excellent follow up book in Ms. D'Amario's Maxey Wizard series! Right from the start, the story grabbed me. I couldn't wait to find out where the plot would twist and turn. The chemistry between the Damon and Krystal is fabulous. The story is involving and fun to read. And there are so many little questions left open for the next story... A great overall story arc is in the making.
I highly recommend this story to any fan of the alpha shifter male, or any fan of excellent paranormal romance. The book will hook you in and leave you wanting more!

What I’m talking about:
I wasn’t sure what to expect in the second ACRO book-the first was so exciting, and I always worry about sophomore books. Thankfully, Unleashing the Storm did not disappoint!
We briefly met Tommy “Ender” Knight in the first ACRO book, Riding the Storm. He was set up as the grumpy loaner, ex-military dude. And he remains that way into and throughout this book. He is attracted to Kira, may have some feelings for her as he gets to know her, but his personality does not take a 180-turn when he meets her. I like this.
Kira has some sort of tie to animals and occasionally exhibits similar behavioral patterns, including an annual “mating heat.” I’m not talking about the need for sex, I’m talking about the need for “seed.” We learn that she always has more than one male to service her and meet the demands of her high-frequency mating needs. Unfortunately for her, her life is turned upside down when she goes on the run with Ender from the evil Itor agents. Kira is not happy and a bit scared when faced with the reality of only one man for her mating needs. She likes control and she has lost a lot over her own life and body. Of course, Ender is up for the challenge and secretly enjoys the fact that he can meet all her needs.
I enjoy the fact that both characters stay true to their nature. We don’t have an instant “ga-ga” reaction by either person when they meet or even after they’ve had sex. They secretly admit to themselves that there is an attraction, but they are realistic about their future together. I usually don’t enjoy a book where the main dividing force that keeps a couple from finally reaching their HEA is self-induced. You know - the whole “Oh, I can’t be with her b/c I’m no good,” attitude. But even though we get some of that in this book, it works. It’s not over played and we watch each character grow in time and on their own terms. It is a great ride to follow these two characters on their journey.
As for the “side” stories... I am in LOVE with Creed. When we left Creed and Annika in the first book, we knew that Creed had more than just sex on the brain for Annika. Early on in Unleashing the Storm, we get to see them together again. And this time, Creed isn’t going to let Annika continue to break his heart. Their story takes some interesting twists in this book and ends with an emotional cliff-hanger.
On to ACRO and its leader, Dev... What can I say? We get an passionate reunion with someone from his past. I can’t give details without spoiling the first book. Regardless, I’m happy to report that we get more details that surround the mysterious Dev and his ghost, as well as learn more about the mole at ACRO. OH SO GOOD!
I am really and truly enjoying this series so far. Both books I’ve read have it all: great story line, strong overall story arc, interesting and fulfilling characters and great sex!

Hear Twimom Roar...
A little rant from Twimom...
Readers of my blog know a couple of things about me. 1) I bought a Kindle earlier this year and I am in LOVE with it. 2) I am a huge fan of Lora Leigh’s Breed series and am excited for the release, tomorrow. Put those two things together and you can guess that I pre-ordered Lion’s Heat for my Kindle weeks ago!
I received the following email from Amazon yesterday (Sunday):
Hello from Amazon.com,
We're writing to let you know that we've canceled your order for Lion's Heat because it will not be released by the publisher in Kindle format on Tuesday, April 6th, 2010 as previously expected. We don't yet have a date for when this item will be released for Kindle. We will send you an email notifying you when the Kindle edition becomes available.
The print edition is sometimes not an ideal substitute; nevertheless, we have decided to offer the print edition of this title at an exceptionally low price to partially compensate for this inconvenience.
We look forward to seeing you again soon.

I was crushed. How could the publisher do this to me? I worry that others will follow suit. What does this mean for me, a newbie Kindle Junkie?
I’ll tell you what it means... A trip to Walmart. I wait for no one or company when it comes to my Breeds!!

What I’m talking about:
This book had me from the opening chapter. The chemistry between Remy and Haley sizzles like the lighting that strikes whenever they are in contact with one another. It was an enjoyable, sexy read. Great for the upcoming summer months!
Remy is full of anger and frustration at the “curse” he received from Mother Nature. To top it all off, he becomes sexually aroused when the storm rage near, which adds a wonderful, erotic nature to this story. Remy thinks he’s headed home after many years away to help his dad, but finds Haley in his dad’s home instead of his father. With a storm in full swing, Remy is forced to leave Haley or take her without control of his desires. This leads Remy to head out into a dangerous storm and Haley is compelled to follow. The results are a pleasurable read. *evil grin* The storms definitely add an exciting passion and element to the sex scenes.
But there is much more to this story. I enjoyed reading about the “side couple” of ghost-hunter Creed and electrified-girl Annika. I hope we read more of them in the subsequent books!
The authors have created a fantastic world, which we only get a few small glimpses in this first book. It feels like an adult version of the X-men with a group of individuals, all with special abilities, working together to keep the world safe from the “bad guys.” Big mystery surrounds ACRO leader, Dev. We know that he has a powerful ghost that haunts his parent’s estate, a mole within ACRO, and he is in love with someone that he cannot have. Dev’s character is complex and I will enjoy learning more about him. There is a scene in this book where the authors reveal some key information about Dev’s one true love. The scene is erotic and emotional. I loved it so much that I re-read it a couple of times.
I have already purchased the next 3 books from this series. I look forward to sharing them with you as I read them.
